The White House

The White House at 620 Donald Ross Drive, and the garage have called for exterior repairs that are more than cosmetic. The funds for this project, presently in progress, have come from a Maintenance Fund which many of our parishioners support on Third Sundays. The building, the gift of the Luddy family some six years ago, was the chapel for most of our daily services during the 2007-2008 church construction and renovation. Sundays it is home to at least four of our Faith Formation sections.

Many meetings– like the Legion of Mary and the newly formed men’s Bible class – are held here throughout the week. And when the St. Gianna Study Group is convened on Tuesdays, the building and grounds are vibrant as the campus for a wonderful little school. Small Baptismal receptions and altar guild breakfasts are scheduled. And a small apartment within the house will receive at times seminarians and visiting clergy.

Four new white (timber) pillars will appear on the front porch–so the White House can still, I suppose, be called that. I thank our parishioners for their understanding that our buildings always need maintaining. Other works to come will be identified in a subsequent letter.
